Abstract: This research investigates the dynamics of parent-child communication in early childhood education (ECE) settings in Nigeria. The objective is to examine how effective communication between parents and children influences educational engagement, parental involvement, and developmental outcomes during the early years. A survey research design is employed to gather data from parents, caregivers, and ECE educators across Edo State. A purposive sample of 200 participants is selected based on their involvement in ECE and family dynamics. Findings reveal that positive parent-child communication, characterized by active listening, supportive interactions, and collaborative involvement in learning activities, enhances children's cognitive development, social skills, and academic motivation. Recommendations emphasize parent education programs, family-centered ECE practices, and communication strategies that promote meaningful engagement between parents and educators to support children's holistic development.
